Services

What we produce for news teams

  • Breaking News Shoots

Small camera crews go to the scene of a developing story, shoot what the edit needs and send back broadcast-ready footage quickly. Daniel Okafor leads most of this location work.

  • Studio News Packages

Booked studio sessions for presenters, interviews and short news segments, lit and recorded to broadcast standards. Tom Gilbert keeps the studio and its equipment ready for short-notice bookings.

  • Rapid Edit and Delivery

Fast editing, captioning and file delivery, so finished items reach your gallery in the format you ask for. Priya Shah cuts against tight deadlines with close attention to pacing and clarity.

  • Newsroom Workflow Advice

We look at how stories move from tip to transmission in your newsroom and suggest practical changes that save time. The advice is based on how your desk works now.

  • Portrait and Interview Lighting

Careful lighting set-ups for contributors and guests, so every interview looks clean and consistent from one booking to the next, whether in our studio or on your premises.

How we approach every commission

  1. Speed

News loses value as it ages, so we plan crews, edit suites and delivery routes around your transmission time. Schedules are set realistically at the start, so promises made to your gallery hold.

  2. Accuracy

We check names, titles, captions and file specifications before anything leaves the building. A clean item that matches your brief saves your editors from last-minute corrections close to air.

  3. Craft

Good framing, steady handheld work, even lighting and sensible pacing are habits, not extras. Our operators and editors work to a consistent standard on a quick-turn item as on a longer package.

How a job runs

From first call to finished file

Most commissions follow the same three stages, whether the item is a breaking-story shoot or a booked studio session. Knowing them in advance helps your team brief us quickly and get what it needs.

Brief and plan

You contact us through the contact page with the story, the location or studio need, the deadline and the format your gallery takes. Helen Marsh reviews the request, confirms what is possible and sets out a realistic schedule. If crew or studio time is limited, we say so at this stage rather than later. A written quotation follows before work is confirmed.

Shoot and record

A crew attends the location, or presenters and guests come to the studio. We light contributors carefully, check sound and framing as we go, and capture the material your edit will need. For developing stories, footage can begin moving to the edit while the crew is still on site, which keeps the turnaround short.

Edit and deliver

Priya Shah or another editor cuts the item to the length and style you asked for, adds captions where required and exports to your specification. Files are delivered in the agreed format and checked against your brief. If your gallery needs a change, we make it promptly.

Choosing a service

Location shoot or studio session

Both produce broadcast-ready video, but they suit different stories. This guide helps you decide which fits your item, or whether you need both.

Questions from newsroom teams

These are the practical points editors and producers ask most often before a first booking. If yours is not covered, the contact page is the quickest way to reach us.

How do we request a shoot or studio session?

Send an enquiry through the contact form with the story, location, deadline and delivery format. We reply with what we can do and a written quotation or confirmation. Nothing is booked through the website itself, so every job is agreed in writing first.

Can you work at short notice on a developing story?

Often, yes, depending on crew availability on the day. Tell us the location and your transmission time and we will say plainly whether we can reach it. If we cannot, we would rather tell you quickly so you can arrange cover elsewhere.

What file formats and captions can you deliver?

We edit, caption and export to the specification your gallery uses. Send us your format requirements at the start, including frame rate, codec, aspect ratio and caption style, and we will build the delivery around them.

Where is the studio and can we visit first?

The studio is based at 14 Parchment Street, Winchester, SO23 8AT. If you would like to see the space and the lighting set-up before booking, ask when you contact us and we will arrange a time that suits both sides.

How is the work invoiced and paid?

After an enquiry, we send a written quotation or confirmation. Once work is done we issue an invoice, paid by bank transfer. Cancellations and refunds follow our payment and refund policy, which is available on the site.

Do you only produce video, or can you advise on process?

Both. Newsroom Workflow Advice is a separate service in which we review how stories move from tip to transmission and suggest practical changes. It can be commissioned on its own, without any shoot or studio booking.

Can you light contributors who record at their own premises?

Yes. Our lighting technician can set up for interviews at a contributor's office or home, so the result matches footage recorded in our studio. Let us know the room and number of guests beforehand so we bring suitable equipment.

Who will I be dealing with?

Helen Marsh, our Managing Producer, plans each commission and is your main contact. Daniel Okafor, Priya Shah and Tom Gilbert handle the shooting, editing and lighting, so the people briefed on your job are the people who do it.
