What we do

Services

Five areas of work for television news teams, from crews on location to studio sessions, fast editing and practical advice on how stories move through your newsroom.

Services

Production support for television news

  • Breaking News Shoots

A small crew goes to where a story is developing and shoots on location. We log the material as we go and send footage that is ready for your gallery to cut or air.

  • Studio News Packages

Booked studio sessions for presenters, guest interviews and short segments. The set is lit, framed and recorded to broadcast standards, so the material drops straight into your running order.

  • Rapid Edit and Delivery

Editing, captioning and file delivery handled against your deadline. Items are cut for pace and clarity, then exported in the format and specification your transmission team asks for.

  • Newsroom Workflow Advice

We look at how a story travels from first tip to transmission and point out where time is lost. The suggestions are practical changes your team can adopt without new systems.

  • Portrait and Interview Lighting

Lighting set-ups designed for contributors and guests, in the studio or on a visit. The aim is a clean, consistent look across interviews, whoever sits in the chair.

In detail

Breaking News Shoots, step by step

  1. Briefing and call-out

You tell us the location, the angle and your deadline. We confirm who is going, how they will travel and how you will reach them. A short, clear brief saves the most time on the ground.

  2. Shooting on location

Our operators work handheld and mobile, favouring steady, usable shots over elaborate set-ups. They gather wide scene-setters, close detail and any short interviews your producer has asked for.

  3. Logging as we shoot

Clips are noted as they are recorded, with what each contains and where the strongest pictures are. Your editor does not have to search through raw footage to find the usable moments.

  4. Delivery to your gallery

Footage is sent in the file format and by the route you specify. If you need a rough assembly or a fully edited item, say so at the briefing and we can add the editing service.

How a commission runs

From first enquiry to finished delivery

Every job starts with a conversation about what your newsroom needs and when. We keep the steps short and the paperwork light, because news does not wait. Each stage ends with something you can check, so nothing is left to assumption.

  1. Enquiry through the contact page

You send us a short message describing the story or session, the date, the location and the outputs you need. We read it the same working day where we can and reply with questions if anything is unclear.

    What you leave with

A confirmed understanding of what you are asking for

  2. Written quotation

We send a written quotation that sets out what is included, what could change the cost and the delivery format. You read it, ask about anything unclear and tell us whether to go ahead.

    What you leave with

A written quotation you can accept or query

  3. Confirmation and planning

Once you accept, we confirm the booking in writing. Helen assigns the crew, agrees contact points and checks equipment, access and any studio time needed, so the day itself runs without surprises.

    What you leave with

A written confirmation with crew, timing and contacts

  4. Shoot, session or review

The crew shoots on location, runs the lit studio session or carries out the workflow review. We keep you informed of progress and flag anything that affects timing as soon as we know about it.

    What you leave with

Recorded material or review notes, as agreed

  5. Edit, delivery and invoice

Footage is edited and delivered in your chosen format. We then send an invoice, payable by bank transfer, and cancellations or refunds follow the payment and refund policy.

    What you leave with

Delivered files and an invoice for payment by bank transfer

We sent a short brief in the morning and had usable footage with our gallery before the lunchtime bulletin. The crew asked sensible questions and kept us informed throughout.
